MacBook and MacBook Pros Updated

As predicted, Apple updated their MacBook and MacBook Pro laptops today, and there are some exciting changes…enough to make my MacBook Pro feel inferior.

Both models now feature the Intel Penryn Pro Core 2 Duo processor with faster processor speeds. As is typical of Apple, the price points for the machines stay about the same while the performance and capacity of the machines goes up.

The coolest thing: The MacBook Pros now have multitouch trackpads…just like the MacBook Air.

As a side note, Apple has decided to no longer include the Apple Remote in the box with these machines. Yep, you have to throw down an extra $19 to get that all-so-useful accessory. That seems like kind of a strange move to me.

And, if you’re in the mood for some music, Apple lowered the price of the 1GB iPod Shuffle to $49 the other day and introduced a new 2GB model for $69 this morning.
